Tim Sands Obituary, Death: Long-Serving Lincolnshire Paramedic Remembered for Nearly 40 Years of Service

Tim Sands, a devoted paramedic based at Skegness Ambulance Station in Lincolnshire, has died after suffering a cardiac arrest while on duty on Friday, October 23, 2026. He was remembered by colleagues and relatives as a compassionate professional, a dedicated family man, and someone who spent nearly four decades helping people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Sands served with East Midlands Ambulance Service, responding to emergencies across the local area and supporting patients and families when they needed urgent care. Throughout his career, he helped deliver babies, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and attended countless emergency calls. His colleagues said his work made a lasting difference to the community he served.

In a tribute, his niece Heather Webster reflected on his dedication, kindness, and the many lives he touched throughout his career. She described him as an incredible man and a devoted family member, expressing pride in the service he gave and the legacy of compassion he leaves behind.

Colleagues at Skegness Ambulance Station also paid tribute to Sands, recalling not only his professionalism in emergencies but also his warmth and humanity. Away from work, Sands was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, twin brother, and sibling. He shared 30 years with his wife, Dawn, and leaves behind their son, Luke, and grandson, Blake. Family members also remembered his love of animals, particularly cats.

A fundraiser has been established to help Dawn and Luke with funeral expenses and essential household bills following his sudden death. In a final act of generosity, Sands also donated his organs, allowing his commitment to helping others to continue beyond his lifetime.
